Mavic Air 2 & DJI Air 2s Serial Number Format

DJI Air 2s Seriennummer

A serial number is a set of 14 alphanumeric characters (1-9, A-Z) that uniquely identify your drone. The first four characters are letters, followed by nine numbers, and ending with a letter. The first two letters of the serial number identify the country or region where the drone was manufactured. For example, “US” for the United States, “CN” for China, “JP” for Japan, and so on.

The next nine numbers are the drone’s unique identifier and are used to keep track of individual units. The last letter of the serial number is called the “check digit” and is used to verify the other characters’ accuracy.

An example of a DJI Mavic Air 2 serial number is “US-123456789-A”. Here, “US” indicates that the drone was manufactured in the United States, “123456789” is the unique identifier, and “A” is the check digit.

Don’t worry if your serial number is different than the one above. The format may be different for other models and countries of manufacture.

DJI Mavic Air 2 & Air 2s Serial Number Location

DJI Air 2s Seriennummer

The serial number of your Mavic Air 2 or Air 2s can be found in several different parts of the drone. There are three places where you can find it. Let’s start with the most obvious one:

The serial number on the Packaging Box

This is the easiest place to find your serial number. The serial number is printed on the bottom of the box in small print. If you have your drone’s box, simply flip it over and look for the 14-digit code. The box contains the color, the model, and the manufacture date of your drone.

You can also find the serial number of the Mavic on a removable sticker on the back of the box. So just be careful not to lose your box, or you’ll have a hard time finding your serial number!

Serial number inside the battery compartment

If you don’t have the box anymore or can’t find the sticker, don’t worry. The serial number is also printed on the inside of the battery compartment. To find it, simply remove the battery and look for a small white label with 14 digits.

Or open your Batterie der Drohne compartment and take out the battery; you’ll see a QR code beside it with your DJI Mavic Air 2 or Air 2s serial number.

Since some people might not be comfortable taking out the battery, so they can also find the serial number under the gimbal guard. Just remove the gimbal guard, and you will see a label with 14 digits.

Serial number inside the DJI Fly App

The last place you can find your Mavic Air 2 or Air 2s serial number is in the DJI GO 4 app. This is particularly helpful when the serial number sticker has been removed or damaged.

First, you have to activate your drone. Once your drone is activated, connect it to the DJI Fly app. And to find your drone’s serial number via the DJI Fly App, follow these three simple steps:

  • Öffnen Sie den App-Bildschirm und tippen Sie auf die 3 Punkte in der oberen rechten Ecke.
  • Tippen Sie im Menü auf den Abschnitt „Info“ auf der rechten Seite.
  • Scrollen Sie nach unten, bis Sie „Flight Controller SN“ und eine 14-stellige alphanumerische Zahl davor sehen. Das ist Ihre Seriennummer.

All drones must be registered with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the United States. The registration process requires that you provide your drone’s serial number.

If you lose your drone’s serial number, you will not be able to register it and may be subject to fines from the FAA.

Register your Drone with DJI

All drones that DJI sells have to be registered with the company. This is for legal reasons and helps DJI keep track of all the drones that they have sold. The process is simple and only takes a few minutes. You will need your drone’s serial number to register it.

To file a police report if your drone is lost or stolen

If your drone is ever lost or stolen, you should first file a police report. They will need your drone’s serial number to help track it down.

To apply for Insurance

If you want to insure your drone, you will need the serial number. Most insurance companies require it. It is a way for them to verify that you actually own the drone.
